A valid licence from your home country is accepted for short visits, and an international driving permit is recommended for longer stays. Bring your passport and licence when you collect the vehicle and we will handle the paperwork in a few minutes.

We keep our range small enough to maintain properly and large enough to always have a vehicle free. Every car is serviced between hires, our prices include insurance rather than hiding it, and you deal with the same local team from booking to return.
A week ahead is plenty for a sedan or SUV. For 4x4 Land Cruisers and minibuses in the high season, or for anything over the festive period, two to four weeks is safer. Same-day hire is often possible too — call us and we will tell you honestly what is on the lot.
Yes. Add a professional driver to any vehicle for a flat daily fee. Our drivers speak English and Kinyarwanda, know the routes and the parking, and handle fuel stops so you can work or relax while you travel.
Yes. We deliver to and collect from any hotel, office or address in Kigali at no extra charge, and to other towns in Rwanda for a small delivery fee. Airport handover is free on hires of seven days or more.
Every daily price at Cars Hire Wise includes comprehensive insurance, unlimited mileage inside Rwanda, a full tank at handover and 24-hour road support. Fuel you use, cross-border permits and an optional driver are quoted separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
For Kigali and main tarmac roads a sedan is comfortable and economical. For upcountry travel, the rainy season or national park roads, choose an SUV or a 4x4 Land Cruiser. For groups of seven or more, a minibus with a driver is usually both cheaper and easier than two cars.
Prices depend on the vehicle class, the length of the hire and whether you want a driver, and they fall as the number of days goes up. Send us your dates and route and we will come back with one all-inclusive figure, so you can compare it against anyone else without reading footnotes.
Yes. Child seats, roof racks, cooler boxes, extra spare tyres and portable Wi-Fi can all be added to any booking. Tell us who is travelling and we will have the vehicle fitted out before you arrive.
